Spencer A. Rathus

Spencer A. Rathus received his Ph.D. from the University at Albany and is on the faculty of The College of New Jersey. His research interests include treatment of obesity and eating disorders, smoking cessation, human growth and development, methods of therapy and sexual dysfunctions. The author of the widely-used "Rathus Assertiveness Schedule," his professional activities include service on the American Psychological Association Task Force on Diversity Issues at the Precollege and Undergraduate Levels of Education in Psychology and on the Advisory Panel, American Psychological Association and Board of Educational Affairs Task Force on Undergraduate Psychology Major Competencies.

Scott G. Veenvliet

Scott G. Veenvliet obtained his B.A. honours degree in Psychology from Trinity Western University (1999), his M.A. in Experimental Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University (2001), and his Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Western Ontario (2006). Scott’s teaching career began during his doctoral work at UWO and continued as an assistant professor at Tyndale University College in Toronto for three years. Currently, Scott thoroughly enjoys teaching various psychology courses, including several versions of introductory psychology, at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Scott’s most recent publications have appeared in the International Journal for the Psychology of Religion (2008), Social Justice Research (2008), and Deviant Behavior (2005).

Shannon J. Maheu

Shannon Maheu is currently a Professor of Psychology in the School of Language and Liberal Studies at Fanshawe College, London Ontario. She teaches a number of social and educational psychology courses, including introductory psychology at the college. Her current research involves deconstructing and applying current writing perspectives at the college level and in the academic disciplines, such psychology. She is pedagogically interested in student-centred learning and its subsequent outcomes on success.
