Mike Peng

Mike W. Peng is the Jindal Chair of Global Business Strategy at the Jindal School of Management, University of Texas at Dallas. He is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Career Award winner and a Fellow of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and Asia Academy of Management (AAOM). Currently, he is serving as President of AAOM. Dr. Peng holds a bachelor’s degree from Winona State University, Minnesota, and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Washington, Seattle. With more than 180 articles and five books, he is one of the most prolific and influential scholars in global business. With over 69,000 Google citations and an H-index of 103, Dr. Peng is today's most cited and research-active international business textbook author. He is ranked #1 in global strategy, #3 in international business and #9 in strategic management in the world -- according to Google Scholar citations (as of September 1, 2025). His textbooks are worldwide market leaders that have been translated into Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish. Dr. Peng’s consulting clients include AstraZeneca, Berlitz, Canada Research Chair, MTR Hong Kong, Nationwide, Texas Instruments, UK Government Office for Science and The World Bank.

In addition to flashcards and a chapter quiz that is available for each chapter, students will have both a pre and post course assessment that will provide feedback on their global awareness on geographic, political, cultural and economic literacy as it relates to global business. The post-test provides a second insight into how much the student has improved over the course and will provide faculty and college administrators with two valuable data points that can be used to demonstrate assurance of learning.
